One day I was about to sleep at night after finishing a wonderful book. Suddenly a thought came to my mind. There are numerous stray events apparently disjointed. I suddenly felt that there is one very fine single thread which can bring all events together with some meaning. This discussion will be small and illustrative to show you the power of believe on ones self, the faith on spiritual wisdom.
When I was reading Bhagwat Geeta, One strange thing attracted my attention. Arjuna was a great warrior at that time, The best disciple of Guru Dronacharya. A true KHASHTRIYA in meaning.
Then why did he falter to hold his Gandib when he had already mastered in the superior military technique with all the amunitions as they were blessed by the heaven dwellers.
Then why did he ask Sri Krishna, His friend guide in the battle of Kurukshetra.
In my opinion though he proved himself as the superior military general among other warriors. But he was lacking one vital ingredients of the character of a Ksashtriya. It was spiritual wisdom. The fundamental principle disseminated by Lord Krishna to Arjuna was just the sufficient knowledge to enrich ones inner virtue. The knowledge about ones own self/Atma will only help a person to transcend all type of material bondage and make him true inspired follower of his own self. At that time only he can listen his own voice which is coming from deepest part of his heart where the Atma (Which is Sacchidananda) resides. Bhagwat Geeta is a true example of this philosophy.
So it can be concluded you need to build a strong mind to win a battle. And a strong mind can be developed with the divine knowledge. The knowledge about ones self identity. Every life is a mission a duty. Then what is your duty. A deepest contemplation can only help you to comprehend only the vastness of this question. Without the answer of this question your life will be a boat without a direction floating from here to there. So it is indeed the responsibility of every soul to rediscover their true identity. The truth is eternal as the Atma. The biggest truth in this universe is the presence of the consciousness of soul. If a man finds the answer of this two question, e.g. who I am & why I am? Then I guess 2/3 of his work is done. The only thing that is left is execution. But before action realization is necessary.
Fortunately we have the Bhagwat Geeta with us all the time so that we can extract the inner sense lied in the sloka and can rejuvenate our consciousness with higher level of integrity and better level of divine understanding.
